Each site we build ships against the same build spec. The $649 template and the $1,995 custom build both get a redirect map, schema and a speed budget, since those are the parts a cheaper quote usually leaves out to hit a lower number.

Lots of web designers promise fast and mobile-friendly, and few say what that means. Here is what you get, in plain terms, with the number underneath each one so you can hold us to it.
- It loads before they give up
- Hand-coded if the website rarely changes, WordPress if you want to be able to edit it yourself. About half of what we build is WordPress, and all of it goes out lean. Most slow WordPress sites run a paid theme with thirty or forty plugins, and a plugin can load its scripts on every page.
- Fast on the phones your customers use
- LCP under 2.5 seconds and CLS under 0.1, measured on a mid-range Android over 4G. Many web designers skip that last part. Your website was designed on a Mac wired to fiber, and that’s not the machine your customer is holding in a truck cab.
- Your hours and number show up in the search result
- People see them before they click through. We add schema (JSON-LD) that gives Google your address, hours and phone in a format it can’t get wrong, so it isn’t guessing from your footer and getting it wrong.
- You can change your own prices and hours
- Most shops only need to edit five things: hours, phone, staff, prices and photos. We set those up so you can change them yourself without calling anyone. Everything else stays locked so a quick edit on Tuesday can’t break the whole site.
- You can tell which calls came from the map
- We set up your Google Business Profile with the right categories, service areas and tracked links. Once that’s done you can finally see which calls came from the map and which came from search. Without it every lead just shows up as direct.
- You keep the rankings you already have
- Every URL on the old site gets inventoried and pointed at its replacement with a 301 before launch. This is the step that gets skipped, and skipping it’s why a redesign so often quietly costs a business its traffic. The map is a spreadsheet and you get a copy.

Discovery call
About forty-five minutes on the phone. What you sell, who buys it, and which jobs you’d rather stop taking. If we’re not the right fit we’ll tell you right there, before you pay anything.
You provide: Your three best jobs from last year, and your worst one.
Sitemap and copy
Every page mapped before anything is designed. If you already have a site, this is where its URLs go into the redirect map that protects the rankings you’ve got.
You provide: Photos of real work, and an hour to review the outline.
Build
Built to the spec we agreed on. A staging link goes up on the first day of this phase and stays up, so you watch it come together instead of waiting for a reveal.
You provide: Notes on the staging site, whenever you get to them.
Launch, then watch
Redirects go in before the DNS switch, not after. Analytics, Search Console and call tracking get wired up, then we watch the index for two weeks and fix whatever moves the wrong way.

We take walk-ins and on-site meetings across Old Fig Garden, Woodward Park, Tower District, Downtown Fresno, River Park, Sunnyside, Bullard, and Fig Garden Village. Anywhere past that, we work over a screen share and it makes no difference to the build.

Nobody can write and build a real site from scratch for $200. You’d be paying for a template that already exists, with a markup.

What should I ask a web designer before I pay a deposit?
Ask us. Then ask the next three shops you call. A portfolio only shows you the work that went well.
Who owns the domain and the hosting account the day I leave?
If the answer is anything but you, the site lives in their account and stays with them. Get that in writing before you pay a deposit. Ours says you own it and the transfer is always free.
What did the last three sites you shipped score on PageSpeed?
Anyone can promise a score for a site that doesn’t exist yet. Ask for three live websites, open pagespeed.web.dev while you’re still on the phone, and test them yourself.
Are the reviews on your website real, and where do I read them?
Ours sit on our Google Business Profile. There are eight and they’re all five stars. Eight is a small number and we would rather you see the real count than a badge we drew ourselves in Illustrator.
What happens to my rankings during the rebuild?
If they don’t bring up redirects on their own, your traffic is probably going to drop after launch and they’ll tell you it’s normal for a redesign.
Who picks up the phone in six months?

I called two web designers and neither would give me a number. What does website design in Fresno cost?
Template build, $649, paid once. Custom build, $1,995 and up, depending on how many pages have to be built rather than assembled. Care plan, $99 a month, optional, cancel whenever. An agency that won’t quote a range before a discovery call is keeping the option to price you off your reaction.
Are you a web designer or a web developer?
Both, and people searching for a Fresno web developer usually want the same thing as people searching for a designer: a site that loads fast and makes the phone ring. We hand-code the sites that rarely change and build in WordPress when you want to edit it yourself. We did the WordPress build for Fresno State’s news site and trained their staff on it.
My busy season starts in six weeks. Can you be live by then?
A template build, yes. A custom build takes 3 to 5 weeks, so we’ll tell you on the first call whether six is enough. The staging link goes up in week two and stays live until launch so you can check where it stands.
My last web designer won’t hand over my domain. Who owns what when we’re all done?
You do. Domain, hosting account, code, content and analytics, transferred on request, in writing, for free. Whoever holds the registrar login controls the domain no matter who paid the invoice, so get that login in your name before you pay any web designer in Fresno a deposit, us included.
I rank on the first page right now and I am scared a rebuild kills it. Does it?
It does when the URLs go unmapped. Google has your old addresses indexed, and a new site with new addresses orphans every one of them unless each old URL gets a 301 redirect to its replacement before launch. We inventory the old site, write the redirect map, keep the titles and headings that are already earning the ranking, and watch Search Console for two weeks after launch.
I already paid for a website two years ago. Do I have to start over?
Often not. If the platform is current and the problem is speed or thin content, fixing it costs less than replacing it and we’ll say so. An abandoned theme carrying forty plugins costs more to repair than to rebuild, because every fix has to be re-tested against every plugin.
I am in Visalia, not Fresno. Does that change anything?
No. Most of our work is Fresno and Clovis, and we build across Madera, Sanger, Visalia, Tulare, Hanford, Merced and Modesto. We’ll drive out to your shop.
Do I have to hire a second company for SEO after the site is built?
No. Schema, page structure, internal links and Google Business Profile setup ship inside the custom build. SEO sold as a separate retainer right after launch usually means it was left out of the launch on purpose.
